FINLAND WINTER SPECTACULAR

Assemble at Changi Airport for our flight to Helsinki, the capital of Finland. 

Arrive Helsinki and commence on our curated tour of the city.   

Begin our tour with a visit to the Hakaniemi food hall for its huge range of products that form the base of Nordic cuisine.  Explore iconic landmarks such as the public library Oodi and the external pods of Amos Rex Museum.   

On the elegant coastline of the city, we can find the quirky Loyly, a sauna restaurant complex with a stunning sea view. Visit Café Regatta, an adorable café very popular with the locals and instagrammers.    

Make a photo stop at the Sibelius Monument which is created to honour the famous Finnish composer. 

Board a domestic flight to Ivalo, located roughly 250km above the Arctic Circle. 

Drive to Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort, Lapland’s most enchanting holiday resort nestled amidst the beautiful Finnish wilderness. 

Check in to a Kelo-Glass Igloo combining the warmth of a cosy log cabin, featuring a private sauna, fireplace, kitchenette and a bedroom under a stunning glass roof. (Single traveller accommodated in glass igloo instead) 

Visit Santa’s home, an idyllic red cabin located deep in the heart of the forest, where Santa and his wife receive visitors.  Enjoy hot drinks and ginger biscuits served by elves.    

Tonight marks the first out of six nights to witness the natural phenomenon known as Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights).  Note: The Northern Lights occur from late August to late March.  Sightings are subject to suitable weather conditions. 

Travel to a reindeer herder's farm where we learn about reindeer husbandry, see the Lapps in their traditional costumes and best of all; enjoy a reindeer safari.   

Drive to Levi, located in the Kittila region of Finnish Lapland.   Levi is famous for its Fell, Levitunturi which is used as a ski resort in the winter and great for mountain bikes in the summer.   

The views from the top of Levi Fell are astounding with the opportunity to see the Northern Lights for the next three nights. 

Experience the most beautiful scenery around Levi as we ride the snowmobile on the frozen rivers and through the snowy forests. (2 persons to 1 snowmobile. A supplement to be paid on the spot for guests requesting solo rides, subject to availability.  The driver must have a valid driving license. Children below 140cm will be pulled in a sled driven by the guide.) 

Break the ice of a lake and try our luck at ice fishing.  Enjoy a Lappish soup lunch by a campfire.    

Meet our ski instructor for basic cross-country ski lessons.  Enjoy the silence and beauty of the wintery forest as we glide along tracks through the snow. (Ski equipment includes thermal overalls, boots, gloves, skis and ski poles) 

Experience Christmas nostalgia as we drive to Rovaniemi, the gateway to Lapland and reputed as the home of Father Christmas. 

Visit Santa at Santa Claus Village located at the Arctic Circle, the invisible line that runs round the top of the world and known as the border of hastiness, when regular time changes into magical time of elves and reindeer.   

Receive a certificate as proof of crossing this mystical line.  Whisper wishes to Santa before visiting his only genuine main post office where a personalized letter can be ordered for children at home during Christmas. 

Be greeted by the friendly huskies that will take us on a husky sledge safari through frosty forest and over snowy meadows.  Experience a thrill ride on a sled pulled by our very own team of huskies.   

Chat with the musher about these amazing Nordic animals while enjoying hot juice with cookies.   

In the afternoon, enjoy some free time exploring Rovaniemi. 

In the evening, embark on our Aurora Borealis Adventure.  Travel to the nearby wilderness where we will have the best view of the sky.  A professional photographer is all ready to capture these magnificent phenomena and give advice on camera settings to capture them ourselves too. Enjoy some hot beverages and grilled sausages to warm up as we wait for the Northern Lights to appear. 

Enjoy the morning exploring Rovaniemi till it is time for our activity. 

Put the pedal to the metal and challenge friends and family to an ice karting race on ice and snow!   

Feel the excitement as we drive on an outdoor ice track with studded tyres while enjoying the beautiful winter scenery of the surroundings. (Note: Minimum height 150cm and above 13 years old to drive, excursion includes 2 racing sessions of 10 mins each) 

It is time to bid farewell to Finland and travel home with fond memories of the sights, sounds, and stories we have collected on this incredible journey
