ITINERARY
Make our way to Filisur, an attractive mountain resort in the heart of Graubünden. The village is one of the best-preserved Engadin one-street villages. Enjoy a short walk for a view of the famous Landwasser Viaduct
Continue to St Moritz located at an elevation of 1856 masl and boasts so many sunny days that the sun is use as the emblem of the resort. Walk around St Moritz Dorf which offers of charming mix of luxury boutiques and traditional Swiss architecture along Via Serlas.
Admire the facade of the famous Badrutt’s Palace Hotel and see the nearby Leaning Tower of St Moritz, a remanent of a 12th century church. Visit the source of the Mauritius Springs, known for its purity and health qualities, which established St Mortiz as a health resort at St Moritz Bad.
Take the gondola to Diavolezza where we admire the majestic 4000m Bernina range and breathtaking glacial landscape. Explore the glacier landscape up close on a trail which covers the changes of the Pers Glacier and Morteratsch Glacier. Enjoy the typical Bündner Nusstorte baked fresh at more than 3000 masl.
On descend, hope onto the train for our ‘from glacier to palm tree’ journey. The train climbs to the highest point, Ospizio Bernina (2253masl) and travels along the Lago Bianco reservoir. A slow and meandering descent via the Brusio circular viaduct with its 360-degree curve brings us closer to the Italian border. Enjoy a walk around the small, historic Tirano when we arrive in Italy before we drive back to St Moritz.
April
Cross the border to one of the world’s smallest countries, Liechtenstein, a gem nestled between Switzerland and Austria in the heart of the Alps. Explore its charming capital Vaduz with its mix of modern and traditional Alpine architecture. The official residence of the prince, the Vaduz Castle is perched above the main street. Stroll through the Stadtle where we will find the Liechtenstein National Museum and Art Museum.
May – October
Visit the wild, deep gorge known by mule drivers as the ‘Evil Road’. The Viamala Gorge was carved into massive rocks by glacial ice and the water of the Hinter Rhine and is the deepest gorge in Graubünden (Open from May to October). A 359-step staircase leads to the center of the canyon. See spectacular rock formations and millennia-old swirl potholes along the way.
Drive through the scenic countryside to Lucerne, one of Switzerland’s most beautiful cities. Admire the 14th-century wooden Chapel Bridge. Make a photo stop at the Lion Monument, dedicated to Swiss guards who died during the French Revolution.
Visit the capital of the Swiss Confederation, Bern. Explore this charming town dotted with Baroque Fountains, the Astronomical Clock and 6 km of Covered Arcades. Visit the mascot of the city at the Bear Pits on foot.
Continue to the charming resort of Interlaken, located between 2 sparkling lakes beneath the towering Jungfrau in the Bernese Oberland. (Note: Accommodation may be arranged in other cities in the Jungfrau Region)
Travel to the wonderland of ice and snow on our excursion to the Top of Europe – Jungfrajoch. Travel in the world’s most modern tri-cable gondola which not only shortened the travel time but also offers the best view of the famous Eiger North Face.
Enjoy a magnificent view of the Aletsch Glacier, the largest in the Alps and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stroll through 100 years of Jungfrau Railway history on an enchanting multimedia journey. (Alternate excursion arranged during inclement weather).
Admire the steep wine terraces of Lavaux, a UNESCO Heritage Site since 2007, as we make our way to Zermatt, a car free resort surrounded by a range of magnificent mountains. Enjoy walking in the old quarters of this beautiful village. (Note: Alternate accommodation in the Valais Region in event of road closure)
Board the Gronergrat railway up 3100 meters to experience Matterhorn and its surrounding alpine world in all dimensions with the brand-new multi-media ‘Zoom the Matterhorn’.
Experience another Swiss specialty this morning - chocolates! Go on an indulgent journey through the history, traditions and art of chocolate-making of Switzerland’s oldest chocolate brand – Cailler.’
Continue to the largest city and the financial center of Switzerland, Zurich. Make a stop at the Fraumunster, Limmat River and view the Grossmunster, the starting point of the Swiss-German Reformation. Around this area are also a few filming locations of the popular Korean drama ‘Crash Landing On You’.
