  • Welcome to Christchurch – the “Garden City of New Zealand”
  • Christchurch City Sightseeing – Take in the sights of the central city and its surrounds and see how beautiful this city is. Visit Mona Vale, one of Christchurch's most spectacular gardens. Take a leisurely stroll around the park and see why Christchurch is known as 'the Garden City’. See The Bridge of Remembrance which serves as a memorial to those that has participated in both the World War
  • Riverside Market Located in the heart of Christchurch and overlooking the Avon River. An indoor market selling local produce, meat, seafood, baked goods coffee and many more. Free time for everyone to explore and get your own lunch at the market.

DAY 3 CHRISTCHURCH – ASHBURTON – LAKE TEKAPO
  • Journey down to Lake Tekapo - Located in the heart of the Mackenzie District in Canterbury. The lake is a spectacular turquoise colour due to finely ground rock in the glacial melted waters. We will travel over the braided Rakaia River into the MacKenzie Country
  • The Church of the Good Shepherd – which is situated on the shores of Lake Tekapo amongst the natural beauty of the lake and the mountains.
  • Bronze Sheepdog - Close to the Church of the Good Shepherd is a well-known bronze statue of a NZ Collie sheepdog.
  • Dark Sky Project (The Crater Experience) – Tonight we will experience Stargazing from Cowan’s Private Observatory. Explore the endless Southern skies from the observatory dome and through the telescope, we can observe planets, galaxies, and the depths of the Milky Way. Every night sky beholds something different, often visible through the naked eye, the professional astronomy guides use handheld lasers to showcase the best of the evolving night sky. The outdoor nature of the Crater Experience makes it a weather dependent activity. If it is not possible to observe due to the weather, then an alternative indoor experience may be offered in our purpose built technological and interactive venue.

DAY 4 LAKE TEKAPO – MT COOK NATIONALPARK – OMARAMA – WANAKA
  • This morning the road from Tekapo to Mt Cook National Park is a pretty drive along the edge of Lake Pukaki, a stunning glacial fed lake which is also the largest lake in the Mackenzie District. Mount Cook National Park or as known in Maori "Aorangi", the cloud piercer, loams in the foreground.
  • Time will also be available for those passengers that wish to join optional Helicopter flight for a closer view of Mount Cook and its surrounding peaks.
  • Blue Lakes and Tasman Glacier View Track – Starts tracking from the car park where we will walk past the Blue Lake Shelter and meander up past the Blue Lake to a viewpoint on the moraine wall. There are good views of the lower Tasman Glacier and lake, icebergs, and the mountains at the head of the valley.              
  • Depart Mount Cook and follow the shores of Lake Pukaki to the small town of Twizel. The route turns south through the MacKenzie basin and the junction town of Omarama. Then it's over the Lindis Pass to the old gold workings near Tarras, the township of Cromwell and the "Alpine Resort" of Queenstown 
  • Picture stop at the famous That Wanaka Tree which is located at the southern end of Lake Wanaka. The tree sits alone in the water and it’s a popular destination to take Instagram photos

DAY 5 WANAKA – CROMWELL – QUEENSTOWN
  • Free time to walk around Wanaka waterfront before we depart for Queenstown.
  • Enroute we will make a quick stop at Mrs Jones Fruit Orchard – New Zealand’s fruits paradise, sample and buy great variety of fresh or dried fruits
  • Kawarau Bridge Bungy Centre – This is the 'World Home of Bungy! This will be the opportunity to experience bungy jump*. There are also the purpose-built viewing decks that provide a safe and enjoyable area to witness the beautiful scenery and people doing the bungy jump. *Bungy jump will be at passengers’ own expense
  • Gibbston Valley Winery - Winery visit + Wine Cave tour which give you the opportunity to learn more about the history of the region and the winemaking journey. The tour includes tasting three current release wines in the unique ambiance of the wine cave, blasted out of the solid schist of the Central Otago mountains.
  • Visit the Historic Arrowtown, a village which was once the hurley burley centre of the gold rush. The town has been preserved with its main street still retaining the flavour of the 1860's. Historic miners houses are shaded by tremendous oak trees.
  • Arrival into Queenstown – The Adventure Capital of the World which is surrounded by majestic mountains and set on the shores of crystal-clear Lake Wakatipu

DAY 6 QUEENSTOWN – MILFORD SOUND – QUEENSTOWN
  • Full day Milford Sound Excursion - This morning, Follow the southern arm of Lake Wakatipu to Lumsden, and onward to Lake Te Anau. Enter the Eglinton Valley and travel through the Homer Tunnel to reach Milford Sound. Travelling along the Milford Road is one of the finest alpine drives in the world. The scenery is exceptional, ranging from broad grassy flats, dense rainforest, and towering mountains to glacial lakes and alpine herb fields.
  • Enjoy a relaxing cruise on this world-famous fiord, dominated by Mitre Peak and the cascading Bowen Falls

DAY 8 QUEENSTOWN – AUCKLAND – ROTORUA
  • Morning transfer to Queenstown domestic airport for domestic flight to Auckland or Rotorua
  • Upon arrival, we will start our journey down to Rotorua - The heartland of New Zealand’s Maori Culture as well as bubbling mud pools, shooting geysers and natural hot springs.
  • Visit the Government Gardens and Rotorua Lakefront for some picture stops  
  • Te Puia: Is home to the New Zealand Māori Arts and Crafts Insitute and the world famous Pohutu geyser. See the boiling mud pools, native bush and the National Schools of Wood Carving and Weaving. You can also see live kiwi close up and learn how they protect these extraordinary, endangered birds. 
  • Te Po (Indigenous Evening Experience): It is a feast of storytelling, entertainment and Maori cuisine. Experience the customs and traditions of Maori, with a traditional powhiri, a warrior’s challenge and a full kappa haka concert. Enjoy traditional hangi cooked food and Maori dishes. After dinner you will board the waka for a journey through the valley under lights. Be awed by the magical evening sights of the geothermal valley. Marvel at the sight of this glorious natural wonder, while your guide entertains you with traditional Māori mythology and stories

  • Agrodome Farm Tour - Go on the tractor drawn trailer around the farm. See sheep, cows, llama, highland cattle, angora, goats, deer, emus, alpaca, and ostrich in a real farm environment.
  • Skyline Rotorua – Take a 900m Gondola ride up Mt Ngongotaha and enjoy extensive views of Rotorua city, lake, geothermal activity, and surrounding hinterlands.
  • Next, The Skyline Luge* is a thrilling ride for all ages and abilities and one of the top things to do in Rotorua. Take off downhill on your luge through twists and turns to a backdrop of dramatic scenery and down through the Redwood Forest

DAY 10 ROTORUA – MATAMATA – AUCKLAND
  • Experience the real Middle Earth with a visit to Hobbiton Movie Set, featured in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films. The tour starts with a drive through a picturesque sheep farm. Look at Bag End, where Frodo and Bilbo’s adventure began. Get lost among the hobbit holes and visit the Green Dragon inn, the mill, and the Party Tree. Listen to spell-binding tales of how Hobbiton came to be. A complimentary beverage is included after the tour.
  • Make our journey back to Auckland.
