DAY 2 HOBART

Welcome to Hobart, the capital of Tasmania and Australia’s second oldest capital city. Explore the city with a sightseeing tour that includes Battery Point, the ABC buildings, Parliament House, St George’s Church, and the vibrant Salamanca Place. Then ascend to the summit of Mount Wellington*, towering 1,270 meters above the city, for breathtaking panoramic views of Hobart, Bruny Island, South Arm, the Iron Pot, and the Tasman Peninsula.
*In the event of strong wind and Mt Wellington is closed, it will be replaced with Mt Nelson.

DAY 3 HOBART – TASMAN PENINSULA – HOBART

Embark on the Pennicott Wilderness Journey, a three-hour cruise along Tasmania’s dramatic coastline between Port Arthur and Eaglehawk Neck. Sail beneath the towering sea cliffs of Cape Pillar, explore waterfalls, rock formations, arches, and deep-sea caves, and spot wildlife including seals, migrating whales, and seabirds within the Tasman National Park.

Visit the World Heritage-listed Port Arthur Historic Site, Australia’s most complete convict settlement, featuring over 30 buildings, ruins, and restored homes set across 40 hectares of landscaped grounds. On the way, admire the striking natural formations at Eaglehawk Neck, including the Tessellated Pavement, Tasman’s Arch, the Blowhole, and the Devil’s Kitchen.

DAY 4 HOBART – HUON VALLEY – HOBART

Start the day at Salamanca Market*, Hobart’s vibrant Saturday outdoor market featuring nearly 300 stalls of handmade Tasmanian crafts, jewelry, fashion, glassware, and local delicacies (*market visit only if your stay falls on a Saturday). Next, visit the charming town of Richmond, a picture-perfect colonial village home to Australia’s oldest bridge, built by convict labor.

Continue to Barilla Bay Oyster Farm, one of Tasmania’s top producers of premium Pacific oysters, for a guided tour showcasing oyster farming, processing, and packaging. Then visit the Tas Live Abalone Factory for a factory tour and tasting of freshly cooked abalone, with the option to purchase a variety of Australian abalone products.

The day concludes at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, home to wombats, koalas, quolls, Tasmanian devils, and over 80 free-roaming kangaroos that you can hand-feed, offering a close encounter with Tasmania’s unique native wildlife.

DAY 5 HOBART – MT FIELD NATIONAL PARK – HAMILTON – CRADLE MOUNTAIN

Begin the day with a visit to Russells Falls, one of Tasmania’s most picturesque waterfalls. A 20-minute return walk along well-maintained tracks and boardwalks takes you through lush rainforest, past towering swamp gums and typical cool temperate forest species such as dogwood, musk, and myrtle.

Next, stop at Curringa Farm for an authentic Aussie farm experience, featuring sheep shearing and farm dog demonstrations, a comprehensive farm tour, and seasonal crop viewing, all culminating in a delicious BBQ lunch. Afterward, begin the journey toward the Tasmanian World Heritage Wilderness Area, home to the stunning Cradle Mountain–Lake St Clair National Park.

DAY 6 CRADLE MOUNTAIN – SHEFFIELD – LAUNCESTON

The best way to experience Cradle Mountain’s alpine beauty is on its walking trails. Take a self-guided walk around Dove Lake, one of Tasmania’s most iconic short walks, where the circuit winds around the lake beneath the dramatic backdrop of Cradle Mountain.

Next, visit Sheffield, a charming rural town known for its vibrant murals that celebrate local history and art. In the afternoon, we begin the journey back to Launceston.

DAY 7 LAUNCESTON

Visit the Jansz Tasmania Wine and Interpretative Centre to discover why Tasmanian sparkling wines are world-renowned, with a guided tasting of the Jansz range. Next, stop at Bridestowe Lavender Farm, where you can wander the fragrant fields and learn about lavender farming, with peak bloom typically from December to early February. The day concludes at Cataract Gorge Reserve, a striking natural formation just minutes from Launceston city center, featuring walking trails, scenic lookouts, and the world’s longest single-span chairlift.
