Day 1. Welcome to a unique experience!
Assemble at Singapore Changi Airport and check-in for your flight. Transfer to Negombo, which is a small town located close to the airport.

Day 2.
-
Visit the De Mel Coconut Estate, a family owned traditional Coconut Plantation. Walk through the plantation and learn about this fascinating plant and the myriad industries it supports. Conservation and rural development have been the emphasis of the De Mel Family for generations and a part of the plantation has been dedicated to reforestation. Visit the forest and contribute by planting a tree. Later, enjoy a demonstration on the different uses of the Coconut Tree and a sumptuous Sri Lankan village style Rice and Curry lunch.

Day 3.
-
Enter a small village temple which is home to a very small community of Buddhist nuns. Meet the nuns and enjoy a discussion about the principles of Buddhism, the lifestyle of Buddhist nuns and their meditations. As per local custom, monks and nuns consume their last meal for the day before 1200 noon. The meal is always provided by the community in the form of an almsgiving. We join a local family as they take the afternoon meal to the temple and share in the very special experience of serving the almsgiving to the nuns. The family will be happy to guide you on the various protocols involved with serving monks and nuns.
-
Head to Minneriya National Park to experience the mighty Elephant Gathering.
