Day 1.
Assemble at Changi Airport for our flight to Haneda, one of two international airports serving the Greater Tokyo Area.
Day 2.
Upon arrival, meet & greet the local driver guide and transfer start the tour.
Cape Soya – An area that rewards visitors with two beautiful bodies of water: the Sea of Okhotsk and the Sea of Japan. From this vantage point, eagle-eyed observers can also catch a faint view of Sakhalin Island.
North Breakwater Dome – Was built when the North Wharf was used as a departure and arrival point for the former Sakhalin route. Intended to protect roads and railroads from the waves because of the strong winds throughout the four seasons, this impressive architectural piece became a symbol of the times as it crowded with people crossing the Sakhalin.
Meals: Japanese Set Dinner
Day 3.
Early morning, proceed to Wakkanai Port for the ferry to Rishiri Island. (abt 1h40m)
Senhoshi Misaki Park – Along the coast, you can enjoy the clear waters of the northernmost part of the island and the magnificent view of Rishiri Fuji. The park is dotted with oddly shaped rocks and stones created by lava flowing into the sea when Mount Rishiri erupted.
Rishiri Historical Museum – This museum is housed in a historical building repurposed from the former Oniwaki Village Office building constructed in 1913. Exhibits are divided into four sections, each featuring the nature and creatures of Rishiri, the days when indigenous Ainu people lived on the island and called it Ri-sir (Ainu for “island with a high peak”), modern days, and days with thriving herring fishery.
Kamui Seaside Park – Walk up the slope and along the promenade called Charenka Path for about 20 minutes until you reach the tip of Kamui Cape, where the horizon spreads out before your eyes. Kamui Rock, which is said to be the incarnation of a maiden according to old legends, and other sheer rocks rise below, and the pretty flowers of the Ezo Kanzou flowers add color from June to July.
