The JR Hiroshima Yamaguchi Area Pass is a rail pass for exclusive use by foreign tourists, providing five consecutive days of unlimited travel on designated JR train lines (including unreserved seats on shinkansen and limited express trains) in Hiroshima and Yamaguchi Prefectures and the shinkansen to/from Fukuoka.

• Validity

  Unlimited use of non-reserved seats on local, rapid and limited express JR trains in the coverage area shown on the map above.
  Unlimited use of non-reserved seats on the Sanyo Shinkansen (including Nozomi and Mizuho) between Fukuoka's Hakata Station and Mihara in Hiroshima Prefecture.
  Unlimited use of JR ferry to Miyajima.
  Reserved seats are not covered by the pass. If pass holders wish to use a reserved seat, nevertheless, the pass will cover only the base fare, while the limited express fee will have to be paid separately.
  The pass is valid on five consecutive calendar days (midnight to midnight).
  Only foreign visitors to Japan (with temporary visitor status) can use the pass. It cannot be used by residents of Japan.
  The pass can only be used by a single person. It cannot be transferred between multiple persons.  The pass holder has to carry his/her passport at all times.
  

• Exchange

  • Once you've completed your purchase, you will recieve an 'Exchange Order' that you validate and exchange upon arrival in Japan.
  • The Exchange Order can be exchanged over a 3-month period.
  • Japanese passport holders can NOT use this pass.
  • To exchange the voucher (Miscellaneous Charges Order) for the Pass you will need your passport.
  • The activation date of the Pass, once the Pass has been obtained, can no longer be changed.
  • JR Exchange Offices:
  Shin-Osaka, Osaka, Kansai-airport, Hiroshima, Shin-Shimonoseki, Shimonoseki, Kokura, Hakata
  

• Booking

  • Additional fee may be required when reserving seats.
  • Shinkansen Bullet Trains are not included in the Pass.
  • Non-reserved Ordinary class cars can be accessed freely.
  • You will have to pay additional fees for traveling in first class (Green Cars)
  • To access the platforms, show your pass to the JR West staff located at the platform gates.
  • To reserve a seat, please approach the JR West ticket office.
  

• Cancellation

  • An unused voucher is refundable for one year from the date of issue.
  • The voucher can be refunded if it has never been exchanged in Japan.
  • A cancellation fee of 10% of the value of the voucher will be retained.
  • No refund is possible for a voucher received by us more than one year from the date of issue.
  • No refund is possible for a lost or stolen voucher.
